CHP is a locally managed and governed charitable housing association based in Chelmsford, Essex and was named one of the top 25 housing associations to work for in the Sunday Times Best Not-For-Profit Organisations 2018.

As part of our multi-skilled team, you will carry out carpentry repairs and renewals to CHP owned properties and other dwellings, including kitchen fitting as well as works in other associated trades as required.

Qualified to City and Guilds Level 2, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, you will have a track record of working within a housing service/building maintenance environment (or have served a relevant apprenticeship). Having worked in occupied homes, you will be able to produce work to a high standard and to manual handling/health and safety requirements.  Self-motivated and fully committed to customer service, you will also be able to demonstrate proven skills complementary to carpentry works.  A full driving licence is essential, together with access to a vehicle for work purposes. A business mileage rate for duties relating to CHP business will be applied.

You may be required to participate in our Out of Hours Scheme Rota, where you are likely to be on call for approximately one in every four/five weeks, attracting an enhanced rate of pay of £450 per week.

CHP offers excellent terms and conditions and working environment, including pension scheme and 25 days’ annual leave.

Committed to equality of opportunity, we welcome applications from all sections of the community. Applications for job share and part-time working will be considered on a business needs basis.
