Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience

Due to continued expansion, leading to increased procurement activities Light Source, is seeking to recruit a Buyer.
Buyer is a key support role that’s varied every day - This is very wide-ranging role within our busy Procurement team. In this busy role, you could be doing anything from processing purchase orders to compiling data for monthly management information reporting to getting involved in tendering exercises.
A significant portion of your time will be focused on internal customers, supporting them through the purchasing process, processing their requests and handling day-to-day enquiries.
You will be dealing with people throughout Light Source, including members of senior management and external suppliers, so good communication skills, written and verbal are essential.
Given the diverse nature of this role, you will need to be a highly organised person with the ability to prioritise your own workload. IT literacy is a must, including experience of creating spreadsheets and data management therefore attention to detail is paramount.
You do not need any previous purchasing or procurement experience, however an interest in pursuing a career in procurement is beneficial.
Reporting to the Procurement Lead you will look at and challenge cost in all areas of the supply chain to bring savings whilst maintaining service quality.
