Pool Operations and Maintenance Assistant
Exeter, Devon 
£22,500 per annum  

Exeter School is looking for a Pool Operations and Maintenance Assistant to work on a full-time basis. The post holder will be accountable to the Operations Manager, but on a daily basis work will be directed and tasks set by the Maintenance Supervisor. Training will be provided for pool maintenance duties and lifeguarding duties but mechanical/electrical maintenance skills are essential. 

In general, the duties required of the post holder are to work as an individual and as a member of the Operations team, assisting with: 

- swimming pool operation and maintenance; 
- cleaning of the pool building and routine checks of the changing facilities;  
- lifeguarding duties; 
- holiday/absence cover for the Swimming Pool Supervisor. 

This is an important and very busy position within the School, working closely with the Swimming Pool Supervisor and the rest of the Operations Team to ensure the day-to-day functioning of the Swimming Pool and the School. 

In addition, the Pool Operations and Maintenance Assistant will be required to: 

- carry out mechanical/electrical maintenance, repairs and installations; 
- carry out general maintenance and repairs to the School's equipment, fixtures and fitting to the post holder's technical ability and qualifications; 
- move furniture, equipment, and assist in room set-ups when required; 
- handle day-today queries from staff and visitors; 
- provide evening and weekend cover for School functions where and when required; 
- provide the site security in or out of School hours. 

Normal hours of work are Monday to Friday: 0800 to 1700 (with one hour for lunch and 2 fifteen minute breaks). The actual hours of start and finish will be flexible depending upon requirements. Additionally, the post holder will provide evening and weekend cover for pool maintenance and School functions where and when required.
