Who will I be working with?

 

Our client is recruiting on behalf of an ornamental plant import and export company. Primarily, these garden plants are imported from the Iberian Peninsula on a broker basis, getting the products directly from supplier to customer. Now in their tenth year and turning over £1m per year, they are now looking for an experienced Business Advisor to help grow and expand their operations.

If you are a self-employed consultant with experience of supply chain management, financials and business planning, this is a rare opportunity to utilise your knowledge and expertise to help a growing company go from strength-to-strength. 

 

You will play a pivotal and central role in advising the business owner to develop strong internal processes and an effective market facing proposition, influencing decision making with your wealth of business acumen and knowledge.

 

What does the opportunity involve?

 

As a self-employed Business Advisor, you will play a key strategic role in the development of the business’ expansion into foreign markets, including Spain and Northern Europe.

 

Sharing your experiences of financial and legal implications of partnerships and joint ventures with other companies, you will be able to provide real insight and added value.

 

Your role will also involve:

 

- Developing a marketing strategy for the business and potential partnerships

- Analysing structure, personnel and financial reporting of the firm and potential partners in unison

- Supporting market research and product development to benefit the firm’s market position

- Making recommendations for improvements and solutions for current software

- Improving logistics to enhance supply chain processes

- Undertaking financial analysis of margins and costing models

 

What will I need?

 

To be considered as a self-employed Business Advisor, you will need:

 

- A proven business advisor/consultant background in a self-employed and/or contracting capacity

- Evidence of developing business strategies, supported by market research

- Expertise in managing and analysing financial information and supply chain management

- The ability to advise and influence at a senior level

 

Legal experience would be highly beneficial to your application.

 

You may previously have held the title of Business Consultant, Managing Consultant, Strategic Consultant, Procurement Consultant, Self-Employed Consultant, Head of Commercial, Head of Operations, Head of Supply Chain Management, Head of Procurement, or Import/Export Consultant.
