QC Inspector – VCL UK Ltd

Department: Inspection

Reporting To: QC Supervisor / Production Management

Job Purpose: Main line inspection and when required check quality of product for items processed by a supplier

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring adherence with all health, safety and environmental procedures
  • Contribute to the maintenance of an orderly and safe working environment
  • Verify and accept procured product in line with contractual conditions.
  • Produce relevant inspection/quality control documentation
  • Read and understand engineering drawings in accordance with customer requirements
  • Control defect items via segregation from good product
  • Raise and maintain relevant defect reports
  • Check and complete all paperwork associated with the delivered article
  • Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process
  • Maintain to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality.
  • Undertake first-off inspections
  • Participate in all main line inspection functions
  • Examining the finish of all coated parts to detect faulty finishing or painting, deterioration of surface etc
  • CMM checking of parts  ( If applicable Aberlink & Mitutoyo depending on candidate )
  • NDE checking of parts ( If applicable LPI / MPI / UT / PMI  depending on candidate )

Qualifications

Time served craft person with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a production environment post apprenticeship.

CMM qualified.

Knowledge and Experience

Good knowledge of Oil & Gas industry with experience of precision engineering processes

Strong problem solving skills and good leadership skills

Hours:           37½ hrs per week (day and night shift pattern – rotating fortnightly)

Rate:             £15.37 per hour + shift supplement

Overtime:       Mid week and weekend opportunities
