The role

Authorisation is one of our largest operational areas. It assesses peoples' suitability to be a solicitor, checks that businesses are equipped to offer legal services and supports the collection of Solicitors' practising fees. Authorisation consists of two teams - Individual Based Authorisation and Firm Based Authorisation.

Team Leaders have an important role in leading and managing teams. As one of nine Team Leaders within Authorisation you will line manage a team of approximately ten Authorisation Officers.

Managing your team in their day to day activities, you will support and monitor their performance again service levels and allocate work. You will role model behaviours to motivate and develop your team into high performers, delivering quality results against objectives and KPIs. At all times being dedicated to continuously improving efficiency, quality and customer service.

To succeed in this role, you will have experience of people and performance management, managing teams of comparable size from any sector. A background managing high-volume operational processing and/or casework would be beneficial.

We are going through an exciting period of transformation, with changes to our regulatory framework and IT infrastructure. This a great opportunity for someone to join us who can manage a team through change while maintaining operational effectiveness and excellent customer service.

We welcome applicants who may be looking to return to work after a career break and recognise finding the right role can be difficult.

We also recognise that we operate in a niche sector - so experience of regulation is not essential. We are supportive of helping you achieve a balance between your personal and professional life.
