DESIGN ENGINEER
Location: Stoke on Trent
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Salary: GBP28,000 - GBP35,000 DOE
My client are leading experts in their field and offer a full range of services to a variety of industries. With over 80 years of experience in helping businesses of all sizes, they are growing rapidly and are now seeking an experienced Draughtsperson to join their team on a long-term basis!
As their Design Engineer, you will be based within the Technical Department where the primary aim is to create mechancial designs, drawings and information packages for their standard range of equipment. Other responsibilities will involve, but won't be limited to:
* Updating and modifying existing products
* Designing new products in line with the product brief
* Working in accordance with the company quality system
* Ensuring drawings, BOM's, specifications and other engineering information is produced in a timely manner
* Generating 2D and 3D drawings and models based upon the information provided
* Maintaining standards that conform to the SSP standards and company procedures
* Generating occassional electrical drawings where necessary
* Occasional overseas travel to other Design Offices
In order to become successful within this role, you will obtain:
* HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent or qualified by experience
* Experience with Creo 3D software along with proven experience with similar 3D CAD software including Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.
* Proven experience and knowledge surrounding Windchill PDM package or similar packages
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* A high degree of flexibility is required to ensure project targets are met
* Good levels of experience and competence in drawing and performing basic interpretation of P&ID's
* Ability to review the designs of others and provide support
* Experience of practical design and manufacturing would be an advantage
