In this role you will provide inspirational leadership, development and direction across your service area, ensuring the achievement of operational excellence and compliance that maximise people, quality and business outcomes. Working collaboratively as part a team of senior operational managers and other colleagues delivering central services, you will lead a number of Cluster Managers and Team Managers to provide great support and services that meet the needs, and aspirations of people we support and their families. You’ll understand, and comply with standards and requirements of the organisation, commissioners and regulators. You will also lead on agreed projects that support the delivery of our Forward Strategy, developing areas of expert knowledge and leadership of high quality practice.
To be a successful Area Manager you will need to demonstrate:
- Experience of managing contracts, complex budgets and income streams
- Demonstrable complex service management experience, leading teams and managing resources in a Health or Social Care setting to deliver high quality, person-centred support
- Leading change to achieve service improvement and better outcome delivery.
- Experience of developing strong relationships with the people we support, families, staff and others built on trust and respect
- Experienced in taking business decisions and learning from the outcomes
- Strong knowledge of Care Standards and Care Act 2014, safeguarding, DOLS/MCA and regulatory frameworks
- Astute financial and resource management skills: able to build and manage a budget, able to see where costs need to be controlled and expenditure is required.

- Provide strong leadership, development and direction to managers and staff across your service area, ensuring that they understand and can contribute to Certitude’s strategy, vision and values and the delivery of required performance and compliance outcomes.
- Champion the development of more personalised services to enable people we support and their families to choose and shape support to meet their individual needs and aspirations.
- Ensure that your teams deliver great practice, acquiring essential mandatory training and knowledge, and continually developing the specialist skills and approaches needed to support people, especially those with more complex and multiple support needs. Ensure services create the conditions in which people can grow and realise their potential, utilise their strengths, networks and resources to achieve their desired outcomes.
- Manage, monitor and control service delivery and ensure that all aspects comply with the regulatory and legislative requirements.
- In collaboration with the Head of Service sustain and develop strong and effective partnerships with relevant statutory and voluntary agencies, including commissioners, and take a lead role in supporting community initiatives to maximise positive outcomes in health, emotional and economic wellbeing and achievements
- In collaboration with the Head of Service negotiate and monitor contracts and service level agreements for all services in your area, and through negotiation actively seek opportunities for the development of new or re-configured services.
- Contribute to the bidding/tendering process for retaining existing contracts and acquiring new services, including contributing to the writing of tender submissions.
