A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Manager to co-manage a team of Support Workers who positively impact the lives of the people we support at one of our supported living services in Hillingdon, as part of the Transforming Care agenda.

Our client is providing support to a young man, who until now hasn’t had all of the opportunities to live life to its fullest.  Thery are creating a team that will help the young man, who has a great sense of humour and a lively and energetic personality, to reconnect with the things he loves, as well as helping him discover new experiences in life.  He has spent a number of years living in a restricted environment. This has meant that he has had very little chance to get out and do the things he enjoys doing like horse-riding, climbing and going on steam trains.

To be a successful Deputy Manager you will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience of supporting people who have learning disabilities to become more active in their community and enabling them to take positive risks in the lives 
  • Experience of mentoring/supervising/coaching others
  • Building great relationships which promotes inclusion for people with learning disabilities
  • Person centred working & developing person centred support plans with individuals 
  • Able to role model great practice and inspire and motivate others

Our client will trust you to:

  • Build great relationships with the person we support and the people important in his life (families, other staff, and external professionals)
  • Supervise, coach and train colleagues in person centred support practices, giving and acting on received feedback on what is going well and what is not going well.
  • Ensure effective day to day management of colleagues inclusive of activity delegation, quality assurance, performance management and recruitment and selection as appropriate to the role.
  • Develop and maintain links with professional bodies, implementing changes in practice with the team and the organisation

Your hours of work will be 37.5 hours a week on a flexible 7 day shift rota.
