Our client is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with young children.

Volunteers provide regular support and practical help to families under stress helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown.

Due to a grant award from BBC Children in Need, they are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Co-ordinator to support their work with families with young children in the boroughs of Runnymede and Woking.

Home Start Co-ordinator
Location: Ottershaw, Chertsey
Hours: 25 hours a week
Fixed term contract to 1st July 2020
Salary: £14,998 per annum - (NJC scale point 12) Rising to £15,290 (NJC Scale Point 13) after the successful completion of a 6 month probationary period.

The role will involve training and supervising volunteers to deliver direct support to families and working together with referrers and local partners.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Parenting experience and an understanding of the needs of children and families
  • Experience of working directly with vulnerable families
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Experience of working with volunteers
  • Experience of delivering training together with a knowledge of IT
  • The ability to work on their own initiative in a challenging environment
  • A relevant qualification

Additional requirements include knowledge of the voluntary sector, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a valid driving licence. As the charity support families across the Runnymede and Woking boroughs the use of own car is essential (expenses will be paid).

A DBS check at enhanced level will be required.
