Exeter Deaf Academy (“the Academy”) is a charity that provides essential specialist education and residential care to Deaf young people.  We are at an exciting time in our history as we build a brand new world-class Deaf Academy in Exmouth, Devon. This facility will help our amazing Deaf students thrive. It will break down barriers to Deaf young people, bring communities together and enable families to thrive.

In September 2018 we launched a £250,000 appeal to help fund the build and fit out of our New Academy. We are now looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our small but committed team in delivering this appeal and ensuring that our new Academy becomes a reality.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced fundraiser to work as a key member of our team until the end of the appeal in August 2020. Supporting existing corporate partners, researching and pitching to secure new opportunities, building relationships within the Exmouth community, recruiting and managing volunteers, and delivering fundraising and awareness events.

This is a role for someone with excellent experience of developing strong relationships with individuals, groups, companies and volunteers. You will be a confident self-starter with the ability to quickly pick up new information and relationships. You will research and form new key relationships, promoting our message and appeal aims and securing fundraising support. You will be experienced in delivering excellent customer care, developing relationships with donors/customers to ensure long term support. You will develop good working relationships both within the Academy and with external bodies, being willing to work flexibly and as a member of a collaborative team.

We are looking for an individual who is a team player with a can-do attitude, being pro-active in developing external relationships, spotting fundraising opportunities and delivering effective ‘products’ that enable us to hit our appeal fundraising target.

Our vision is a brighter future for Deaf young people. If you feel you could be part of this story, we would like to hear from you.

Terms & Conditions: 37.5 hours per week, contract until end August 2020, starting as soon as possible.
Benefits include 30 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus bank holidays.

Closing date for applications: 5pm, Tuesday 2nd April

Interview Date: Tuesday 16th April
