Description

Apollo Management International LLP is seeking to hire a European Principal Fund (EPF) Associate. The Associate will work directly with Principals and Partners on new and existing investments across all sub-sectors and strategies covered by the team, which include Direct Real Estate, Non-Performing Loans, and Non-Corporate Structured Credit relating to both asset portfolios and operating platforms.  The Associate will work on all stages of the investment process from initial diligence, acquisition, monitoring and management through to disposal of the asset across the EPF portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Provide analytical and project support for all investment related activities including new investments and portfolio monitoring.

·         Serve as a point person to conduct exploratory research and perform analytics on potential investment opportunities.

·         Daily responsibilities include modelling, quantitative financial analysis, financial and business due diligence, and quarterly reporting.

·         Assist the team to develop investment committee memoranda, materials with senior team members, and ad hoc projects including but not limited to portfolio monitoring, reporting and investor requests.

·         Draft and present materials regarding potential investments, individual corporations and industries to Apollo professionals at investment committee meetings.

·         Participate in deal financings.

·         Analyse and monitor the performance of existing portfolio investments, evaluating platform and add on acquisitions and assisting with exit alternatives

·         Analyse performance trends to stay abreast of developments and recognize potentially profitable investment opportunities.

Candidates must:

·         Consistently produce a thoughtful, accurate and highly reliable work product with minimal oversight in a timely manner;

·         effectively monitor investments and communicate risks;

·         be creative at developing solutions;

·         contribute to the team mandate and broader Credit mandate by generating investment ideas that are accretive to the Credit platform;

·         be a consistent team player who effectively works across Apollo (this includes with his/her PE, ANRP and RE counterparts) to advance the firm’s goals;

·         Ability to communicate with all levels

Qualification, skills and experience required

·         1-4 years of relevant prior experience in an investment banking, capital markets or buy-side role

·         Relevant university degree from a top ranked institution

·         Familiarity and strong interest in at least one of the following areas:  real estate, financial services, and/or non-corporate structured credit Ability to work both constructively and independently in small team settings (typical deal teams range from 2-3 investment professionals)

·         Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills

·         Nimble and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
