Our client based in South Kent requires a SHEQ Environmental Technician to join their organisation.
Suitable candidates will have the following skills / experience / attributes:
* Degree (or equivalent) qualified in BSc Environmental, Marine Environment or Science discipline (or similar)
* Field and practical experience in environmental monitoring
* Must be familiar with and have knowledge of marine environmental management and monitoring techniques
* Have an understanding of the relationships between species, ecosystems, habitats and natural and anthropogenic causes and the influences on them
* Full driving licence and use of own vehicle
The role will involve:
* Assisting with the management of the ISO14001 including updating the activity register and carrying out environmental audits
* Monitoring all environmental occurrences and contribute to monthly statistical reports
* Undertaking or assisting with routine, regular and periodic environmental surveys
* Responding to environmental incidents and emergencies with the port by undertaking additional sampling and analysis as required
* Maintaining a methodical, efficient and up-to-date GIS database and filing system, ensuring that all items are correctly logged and cross-referenced
* Preparing reports, publications and risk assessments as directed
Salary is GBP18-24k pa + discretionary bonus scheme. 25 days holiday + bank holidays and Pension
