Shop Assistant
Location: Redhill
Hours: 21 hours per week - including weekends
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: GBP14,251 per annum pro rata (GBP8,550.60 per annum for 21 hours per week).

We're opening a brand new Furniture and Electrical shop in Redhill this Spring and we're looking for two Shop Assistants to join our store team. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills in retail, and join the world's largest humanitarian network.

What you'll be doing
In this hands-on role, you will work with a team of dedicated staff and inspiring volunteers to maximise sales and increase profitability. In return you will receive a competitive salary, and the knowledge that you are helping to make a difference to vulnerable people in crisis.

As a shop team, you will work together to help present an excellent image of the British Red Cross on the high street, maintaining a customer focussed shop. Working on the shop floor, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, and will be responsible for sorting stock and preparing items for display, operating the till, and cash handling.

Full of gifts, clothes and even the odd vintage gem, our 330 shops across the UK are home to over 6,500 volunteers and 700 paid staff. Our team is bright and bubbly, and we love meeting people from all walks of life.

Our Furniture and Electrical shops help our customers furnish their house on a budget. We sell a range of donated furniture and electrical items, including sofas, dining sets, TV and DVD players.

This role is for you if...
You're a retail star - you have previous experience of working in a retail environment and you're confident with cash handling duties.

You're a strong communicator - you thrive on delivering excellent customer service and enjoy meeting lots of different people.

You're a goal getter - you have an understanding of the importance of hitting targets
