The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) is first and foremost an organisation responsible for delivering government policy on disclosure and barring functions. The DBS are a Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB) accountable to Parliament through the Secretary of State for the Home Office.
The DBS plays a vital role in safeguarding the most vulnerable in society through the provision of criminal record information enabling employers and voluntary organisations to make safer recruitment decisions and ultimately by barring those individuals considered to pose a significant risk in specific workforces.
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an SEO HR Business Partner to join us at our office in Liverpool.
Within this role, you will deliver a highly proactive partnering service to Senior Stakeholders within nominated business areas, working collaboratively to deliver positive and significant change.
Supporting the development and implementation of a HR strategy/action plan that supports the DBS strategy, you will also be responsible for providing specialist advice, guidance and support on HR matters with a focus on recruitment and selection, pay and reward and HR transformation.
In addition, you will also provide generalist HR guidance and support on all employee relations matters, including but not limited to, high level disciplinary, capability and grievance issues, sickness absence, restructuring and redundancy consultations, TUPE transfers.
In order to be successful, you must hold the following essential criteria:
- Part or working towards being fully qualified to MCIPD level or holds an equivalent qualification
- Experience of operating in a HR Business Partner role.
- Experience and specialist knowledge of HR recruitment and selection processes
- Extensive employee relations/employment law knowledge.
- Supporting managers during formal procedures, including drafting and collating a range of complex and detailed documents.
- Experience of working with Trade Unions in respect of case management consultation, negotiation and collective bargaining.
- Experience of leading on HR / Employment related projects.
- Experience of reviewing and developing HR policies and procedures.
- Experience of implementing and developing HR computer systems and the ability to analyse MI data relevant and appropriate to their business area, using the data to guide and support Management.
- Flexibility to provide HRBP support to the DBS evening shift (5-10pm) for one evening per week as and when required.
