Launch Recruitment is working with a growing Company based in Exeter to recruit a Safety, Health and Environment Co-Ordinator who will perform the following duties:
Review risk assessments, document any required actions and report findings
Provide support to ensure compliance with guidelines and legislation in relation to EA/HSE/DEFRA/APHA requirements, including administration and communication to external agencies with guidance from Management
Undertake workplace inspections as instructed against clear guidance
Undertake routine weekly checks in line with audit schedules and legislative requirements, as advised by Management
Assist in completion of internal audits required to uphold legislative and customer requirements
Provide support to ensure the sites compliance in line with the local authority requirements and permits
Monitor and arrange any required training to ensure compliance and ensure exemplary H&S culture is present at all times
Ensure all documents/records are filed and updated accordingly
Any other ad hoc duties as required/requested by the Management Team
The Successful Person:
IOSH qualified as a minimum (NEBOSH desirable)
Willingness to work to ISO standards
Good knowledge of H&S legislation within a similar environment
Previous experience of working within a manufacturing and/or process environment
Experience of preparing formal documentation for third parties/external agencies
Good IT skills (including Microsoft packages)
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both individually and as a team
Ability to embrace drive improvements
Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel and stay away from home when required
This role is suitable for a candidate with 1-year experience within the H&S field, ideally within the Manufacturing, Food Production or FMCG sectors at an administrative/assistant level
The company are willing to invest in the ideal candidate to develop their knowledge and grow the role in line with their progression.
This role would be based at Exeter (as a preference) but will cover a number of our other sites (Exeter, Rampisham, Cornwall, Wrexham).
This is a permanent role with an excellent salary of up to GBP23k plus car allowance.
Hours of work at 40 hours Monday to Friday
