Stockport Academy is part of united Learning, a large and growing group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England. Schools within United Learning work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our intranet site, United Hub, is just one example of how we share resource and communicate across sites, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance. We reward our staff: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately the satisfaction of supporting schools in their quest to give every child the opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential.

In their most recent report, Ofsted described our standards as ‘high’, and said that ‘relationships between pupils and teachers are typically strong and pupils trust teachers to help them improve their work’. Inspectors noted that ‘staff are proud to be part of the school community’ and ‘they are highly motivated because they feel valued’

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an environment where students’ behaviour is impeccable, where they treat each other and staff with real respect, have a genuine enjoyment of school and enjoy their learning.  The Academy is on the road to outstanding and has a relentless drive and determination to ensure the best possible education for students in our care.

We are looking to recruit an Outreach Teaching Assistant who will be liaising with Teachers to support educational programmes with children in Outreach provision and taking responsibility for children in Outreach provision. The successful candidate will also be required to deliver lessons to pupils and assist in the management of the Learning support team.

We are looking for a dedicated individual who will have the ability to build positive relationships with young people who have already experienced several school settings unsuccessfully and have a flexibility to respond to the changing needs of those who we support.

Where support is better shared
