whg is growing. Our ambition is to sustainably build around 500 new homes a year and we have recently been announced as a strategic partner of Homes England with a grant award of £38m to build 1,000 new homes by 2024.

Our development activity is a real driver of change within our business. To support this we’re looking for a Development Accountant to provide an excellent accounting and business partnering service, which covers all areas of capital investment and development activity within whg.

In this role you will be expected to support the Development Directorate in a time of significant growth, by fulfilling the position of finance business partner. You will be required to support the Finance Manager - Development & Capital and the wider Treasury Team, in all other aspects of work. This will help the Group to achieve its corporate aim of 30,000 homes in ownership or management by 2024.

We are looking for someone with significant accounting experience in a complex organisation alongside experience of management and statutory reporting of capital activity, whilst being aware of the latest financial reporting standards and best practise.

A fully qualified accountancy qualification, current membership of a CCAB and  excellent IT skills, with experience in dealing with large amounts of information in Microsoft Excel and working with competing priorities, is essential in this role.
