Quality and Compliance Manager
Reference: 11.19
Location: Central Services, Exeter
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Contract: 12 month fixed term contract (maternity cover)

We’re looking for an individual to support the development and implementation of EDP’s strategy, policies and procedures in relation to data collection, compliance, regulation, performance monitoring and data protection. You’ll set up systems and processes to ensure that EDP functions in a compliant and safe way, and will train and support managers across the business to ensure that these systems are maintained.

You’ll work with colleagues to ensure accurate data is available to underpin effective performance management, compliance and risk management, driving continuous improvement across the organisation. As the first point of contact for any compliance queries, you’ll be happy to speak to a range of internal stakeholders. You’ll also liaise with external stakeholders, producing reports and statistics that demonstrate compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Information governance will be a key focus in this role – you’ll lead on the completion of EDP’s annual Data Protection and Security Toolkit submission and will co-ordinate EDP’s information governance processes in line with legislative requirements. You’ll also lead on co-ordinating the incident management systems, ensuring all incidents are recorded and processed in line with policy.

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for an applicant with experience of governance, quality and risk management systems and procedures. You’ll be used to working with, analysing, collating and presenting complex data, and using this to create detailed plans, reports and presentations. You’ll be skilled in the use of data analysis software - particularly Microsoft Excel - and will be confident administrating complex databases and systems.

You’ll have excellent record management skills and a good understanding of record management requirements. A good understanding of information governance is key in this role, and you’ll need to apply this practically in system design and staff education. Knowledge of GDPR is also essential, and you will need to be able to apply this knowledge within the context of the health and social care sector so experience and understanding of this field is important.

An excellent communicator, you’ll work well with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including teams, managers, service users, commissioners, partner agencies and trustees. Personally you’ll be motivated and results driven, with excellent organisation and planning skills. You’ll be able to balance competing demands and priorities to deal with a diverse workload, and will maintain a practical, positive and considered approach when dealing with challenging situations.

Finally, the ideal candidate will also have experience creating policies, conducting audits and improving quality systems and processes. Knowledge of incident management system design or SharePoint system design would also be advantageous, as would a knowledge of CQC.
