Lecturer (Psychology). 18.5 to 22.2 hours per week. Permanent.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Science and Humanities team. The team is responsible for delivering full and part time adult GCSE resit programmes and Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diplomas to adult students.
We are looking to recruit an effective, enthusiastic and experienced Lecturer in Psychology, preferably with the flexibility to cover additional classes at short notice. You will be expected to develop group profiles to meet individual student needs and deliver innovative lessons which motivate and enthuse students who are returning to education after a break. You will create interesting and engaging resources that help contextualise the subject and facilitate learning and will routinely track and monitor student progress, setting individualised targets to ensure that students are developing their knowledge and skills.
Educated to degree level in Psychology and experienced in planning, delivering and assessing the new GCSE Psychology specification for a diverse range of adult students, the post will primarily involve teaching on our full time adult GCSE pathway; there may be the opportunity to deliver psychology units on our Level 3 Access to Higher Education Social Science and Health Professions programmes for the right candidate.
You should hold (or be working towards) a recognised teaching qualification, as well as a minimum Level 2 qualification in maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent). You will be flexible and open in your approach to teaching and possess excellent communication skills. You will be working as part of a small team of committed lecturers whose focus is on enabling adult students to achieve their academic potential within an intensive course of study.
