£25463 career grade to £28221 (points 28-31)

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Traffic and Parking Team and be involved in supporting the senior engineer by delivering allocated schemes and projects within the team’s programme of work for traffic management and parking measures.

This will involve investigating, designing options and delivering schemes for a range of post related traffic management and/or parking measures including accident/collision investigation and management, Traffic Regulation Orders, speed limits including reviews, traffic calming measures, traffic analysis and solutions, HGV weight limits, parking solutions, Controlled Parking Zones, car parks and their maintenance.

We’re looking for a dedicated individual to:

• investigate, act upon and respond by providing advice and potential solutions, both verbally and in correspondence, to queries / issues raised by elected members, town and parish councils, other agencies and members of the public, and attend meetings when required
• assist in the preparation and delivery of major schemes and projects, monitor progress of specific works/projects and provide feedback information to assist programming, workload and financial management
• produce and provide technical reports and presentations and support the management team in delivery of all aspects of the Service Plan.

You should be working towards a HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification and be competent in civil/traffic engineering or post related profession. A working knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and traffic related issues including parking, moving traffic and environmental issues are essential. You will be competent in IT and report writing, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to express complicated issues fluently.

The post is office based in Beverley however you must have a full driving licence and your own transport to travel to and from sites for which mileage will be paid.
