Our client is looking for an experienced Corporate Accounting Supervisor.

- AAT or equivalent qualification
- Experience of working in a financial/accounts environment
- Practical experience and knowledge of financial accounting systems
- Experience of supervising or managing a team, including management performance and allocating tasks in accordance with priorities
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

- Support the preparation of the annual revenue budget, in particular the costing of the police officer and police staff pay budgets co-ordinate the uploading of year end accruals and budget setting budgets into the General Ledger in order to ensure the overall budget is accurate, inform the setting of council tax and enabling decisions to be made about the size and composition of the force.

- Assist with the closure of accounts and the production of the statutory statement of account; to ensure that the PCC and Chief Constable, as corporate sole, comply with both statutory and regulatory requirements related to statements of accounts.

- Manage the day-to-day cash flow and support the management of the PCC-s investment portfolio, ensure sufficient cash flow to support operational activity, maximise investment opportunities and ensure compliance with Treasury strategy.

- Supervise the Corporate Accounting Team, ensuring that the monthly tasks of the team e.g. bank reconciliations, payroll control reconciliations and submission of VAT returns are delivered accurately and on time.

- Assist with the delivery of Key Financial Performance Indicators (KFPI) on a regular basis in order to provide an overview of qualitative and quantitative financial information data for Chief Officers and senior management.

- Assist with the recruitment, selection, management and development of staff within the section fairly and consistently in accordance with force policy and procedure, undertake appraisal interviews ensuring best practice principles are followed
