We are looking for an experienced sponsorship salesperson to take the lead in selling sponsorship on a new flagship conference which touches all the key brands across our client's B2B media portfolio within the commodities , agricultural and livestock industries.

This is a newly created role due to ongoing growth and success within the business and is a very exciting time to join a relaxed but motivated team, where progression opportunities are strong, the office dynamic is very friendly and easy going and where you can makes a direct, considerable impact on the business from your sales activities!

The ideal candidate will have minimum of 2 years of commercial B2B event sales experience in conferences or summits and now be looking to take the next step in their career. You will also get to travel abroad to places in Asia, America and across Europe! You will work for a company that has a very strong reputation and foothold in the industry, allowing you to really focus on driving consultative sales for your clients. The ideal candidate will relish the challenge of building new events in an entrepreneurial environment built around a quality, content-led portfolio. They will be ambitious; used to working to the highest of standards and interested in building both their personal reputation and that of the company.

The Role

You should have a proven track record in sponsorship sales, particularly in attracting new business. The ideal candidate is someone who is able to work independently, take initiative and be creative in their approach to sales. We are looking for someone who is full of ideas and has the ability and desire to see those ideas come to fruition! Knowledge of the agriculture, food or commodity sector would be ideal but is not a prerequisite.

You should demonstrate a curiosity to learn about new sectors; good networking skills; and be confident on the phone. Given the geographic range of this industry, most of your selling will be telephone based, but you will be expected to meet large prospects/clients in person so occasional travel will be required. You will work closely with a small but dedicated team to events activities in this dynamic sector.

Key Objectives:

•Meet and exceed event and personal targets for event sponsorship

•Identifying and secure new clients to grow the event portfolio and reach revenue targets

•Understand client needs and be creative in providing a solution to meet these needs

•Have strong commercial acumen and good interpersonal skills

•Have strong closing skills; sales methodology and process orientated

•You will need to have attention to detail and be process driven to ensure clarity and transparency in the day to day activities

•Able to quickly grasp markets; gauge size and scope of target profiles and assist in developing data and prospects

•Able to market test new product ideas and providing feedback on viability of new events

•Be able to 'think big' and contribute ideas for growth and longevity of the events.

Targeted Performance

•Deliver commercially successful conferences / events brand that are sustainable and build both profits and long-term equity value

•Achieve an agreed target for each event in accordance with budget revenues

•Build a working database of key clients and prospective customers

•Work closely with the Event Producer to ensure sponsor sessions are filled

•Able to understand and grasp key concepts on the agenda to be able to sell high-value sponsorship

•Regularly update the sales plan and provide forecast figures

•Tracking competitor events and activities and finding new ways to position our events in the market so that they stand out above the competition

•Deliver revenue on additional products such as reports, site advertising etc in line with budget and targets
