Manufacturing Process Engineer

Summary
A Manufacturing Process Engineer is required for a well-established, family owned and progressive manufacturer within the FMCG industry.
Having benefitted from recent investment, this is a new role due to restructure, driving a continuous analytical approach to improving productivity. Offering a substantive package for the right candidate, the role offers opportunity for progression and development.
This role would suit an Engineer from a production background. You will need to be able to interpret and analyse data recorded in databases from manufacturing machinery and maintenance systems.
The Role
The role will involve interpreting and analysing data for the purpose of enquiring where improvements can be made within the production area. This analysis will be shared between the relevant engineering, production and quality departments. Area of ownership will be across two production lines in a fast moving environment. This will include machinery optimisation, development of area action plans, optimisation of lines processes and ownership of area key performance indicators and querying where actions can be taken. Typical production equipment will include converting machinery for bulk product to saleable item, high speed packaging, labelling, wrapping, robot palletization and printing machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysing and interpreting data from machinery and maintenance database systems.
- Providing improvement enquiries to relevant departments.
- Working across two production lines.
- Coaching and training of operational teams.
- Direct communication and ownership of area action plans.
- Machine centreline ownership and management.
- Occasional requirement to be hands on.
Candidate Specification
- HNC/HND or degree in engineering or manufacturing related discipline.
- From a production background, although those from high volume would be at an advantage.
- Able to interpret and analyse data from production machinery and maintenance database systems.
- Previous experience of LEAN manufacturing or process improvement would be advantageous.
- Basic Electrical or Mechanical Engineering knowledge would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Quality tools would be Advantageous.
