Hull College Group is one of the largest further and higher education colleges in the country, offering over 1000 courses to over 26,000 students every year.

We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant who can give specialist support to learners with Hearing Impairment, including BSL Communication, 1:1 support and mentoring. This permanent role is term time only (36 weeks per year) working 19 hours per week.

Within the role you will provide a high quality customer-focussed support service to learners with SEND. Working alongside learners, academic staff and support staff to offer individualised and appropriate support for learners with Hearing Impairment, you will improve HI awareness across the College Group, assisting with staff training where needed. Specialist communicating skills will need to be supported in and out of class.

We are looking for someone who has a Level 2 BSL qualification and is ideally working towards Level 3. With previous experience of working with learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, you will have an extensive understanding of learners with SEND.

A team player who is highly organised and can work calmly under pressure, you will have a friendly disposition and will be able to identify additional learner support needs.
