SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism
TimePlan Education are pleased to be working in partnership with an OFSTED 'Good' mainstream primary School situated in Camden. There are excellent transport links available with a tube station nearby. This primary school is a 2-form entry school with a brilliant reputation in the local area. They are currently seeking a highly skilled 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with an ASD pupil in Year 3. The pupil's main needs are Autism, Language & communication, and interaction. Additionally, the pupil's other needs are Cognition & learning, SEMH, Sensory and physical.
The successful Teaching Assistant will assist the class teacher in supporting the social and academic development of pupils with ASD. The role will predominantly consist of supporting primary-aged pupils on a 1:1 basis, and occasionally in groups. Prior experience working with SEN pupils (particularly ASD) is essential. The role commences February 2019 and will run for the whole of the academic year with potential to be extended.
To apply for this role, you will need to have:
- The ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff
- Experience working with primary aged pupils (4yrs-11yrs)
- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- A current DBS
- A consistent whilst nurturing personality
