My client is a market leading electronics company who are looking for a NPI Engineer to join their growing team of specialists. This establish company of considerable industry repute has recently seen unprecedented growth and is thus looking for an NPI Engineer to provide an efficient assembly process flow and effective control plan for new products and newly introduced legacy products, targeting a right first time build. The successful applicant will be entered an environment in which they are exposed to a diverse range of industries; Aerospace, Defence, Security and Energy, and Medical to name but a few.
Responsibilities of the NPI Engineer:
All critical and specific customer requirements are captured and considered during manufacturing/process steps/ routing creation
Required and appropriate tooling
Visual aids and other assembly instructions are provided
Conducting PFMEA to identify the associated risks and establish control prior to the manufacture of new products
Facilitating Process, Quality, and Cycle Time/UPH improvement, involving representatives from other departments to promote teamwork and awareness
Promoting quality awareness
Standardising procedures
Designing fixtures and jigs required during PCB and Box Build Assembly
Assembly monitoring to minimize downtime
Carrying out post build reviews
Identifying design faults and raising suggestions through DFX Analysis
Promoting continuous improvement and Quality Awareness
Mentoring Production Engineering Technicians / Quality Technicians / Process Technicians
Implementing best known method and fool- proof solutions
Assisting on customer, regulatory or standards audit when required
Process and procedure documentation
Experience/Qualifications of NPI Engineer:
Degree in Electronics, Manufacturing, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages
Adept in Root Cause Analysis through 8D and other problem solving techniques
Knowledge in process control
Experience on Quality Control Tools
Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution and MRP/ERP Systems
Good understanding and experience on ISO9001, IPC-J-Std-001, IPC-A-610, AS9100 is essential
Knowledge on IPC-A-600, NADCAP, Continuous Improvement, Lean, 6 Sigma, SPC, OEE
Knowledge and experience in manufacturing process (i.e. SMT, Wave Soldering etc )
