Job Purpose
To supervise/support the soft services team in health care environment maintaining the cleanliness of all designated areas as directed, using appropriate equipment and/or materials as supplied, ensuring that they are kept in a clean and hygienic condition throughout the day. To ensure Health and Safety at work is adhered including COSHH with reference to the duty of care provision. To ensure daily checks are carried out as well as training to the members of the team.
Responsibilities- Applicants must have a good knowledge of the cleaning industry and cleaning techniques used to ensure a high cleaning standard is provided to the client including, but not limited to, providing excellent customer services and general cleaning duties in health care environment, reception areas, tea points, toilets, meeting rooms, office spaces, stairs, lift lobbies among others.
- Ensure the cleaning team use correct chemicals, colour coding, equipment to carry out their duties
- Ensure the cleaning team are aware of Health and Safety aspects of tasks and use of chemicals.
- Monitor absenteeism and timekeeping from cleaning operatives as well as break times being taken appropriately.
- Motivate and inspire excellent Customer Services from the cleaning team; Instigate constant improvement on how the team interact with clients on a daily basis.
- Build up and Improve communication between day and evening shift liaising with the soft service Manager.
- Monitor Waste collections and service standards.
- Liaising with subcontractors and agency personnel's
- Support cleaning operatives on their development and on how they can get better.
- Control keeping of stock, materials, equipment and holidays bookings - Notify the housekeeping manager to reorder items that may be running out
- Complete daily checks; pick up any issues that can be completed by your team and/or report the things which cannot be completed during the day.
- Build up good communication with the other services including Catering, Engineering, Labours and Workplace managers and coordinators.
- Complete monthly Toolbox talks with the team
- Create a good, responsible, teamwork culture with the cleaning team, promoting checks and job logging by each member to helpdesk for any issue identified.
- Liaise with the helpdesk to oversee reactive jobs making sure they are completed within the response times
- Ensure that every new member of cleaning team receives all training to complete cleaning tasks, as well as having all documentation completed and signed including H&S induction and Risk Assessments.
- Maintaining training records on trackers/ filing systems
- Using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint on a daily basis
- Raising purchase orders
- Good experience of working within a customer facing environment is a requirement for this position along with good organisational skills. Specific competencies within this general requirement include the following:
