One of our clients are actively looking for an experienced "Machine Operator"
Job purpose for the Wood Machine Operator
To meet the continued growth of the business, you will need to set up and operate a variety of machines including, Edge Bander and Beam saws. Be experienced working with wood and able to produce parts according to the drawings. You must be able to work abiding by the Health and Safety regulations. You will be asked to help in other sections when needed but your main position is Wood machine operator
Duties and responsibilities
* Check materials are correct before cutting
* Must have basic Joinery experience with wood
* Operate machines as instructed
* Check parts to drawings
* Monitor machines to ensure they are running correctly, safely and efficiently with minimal downtime
* Work to the job sheet and drawings to produce the correct number of parts needed to the highest quality
* Maintain housekeeping in machine shop
* Apply a knowledge of materials and machining procedures
* Team player
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Be willing and able to learn
* A "can do" attitude
Qualifications/ Experience
* Experience in a manufacturing environment
* Able to read drawings
* Minimum of 5 years as a Wood Machine Operator
* Experience working with Edge Saw and Edge Banding Machine
* Good communication skills
* Good understanding of machining and quality control
