Service Engineer
Our Internationally recognised client have a full time, permanent vacancy for a Service Engineer. Their service team work hard and operate flexibly to provide support to their customers worldwide anticipating and reacting to product support requests, maintenance requirements and solving technical issues.
The post holder will assist the Service Manager with the provision of a flexible and adaptable service resource which meets customer expectations and is delivered in an efficient and cost effective way.
The duties of the Service Engineer;
Provide the required range of product support service in the UK and overseas (including service & repair, installation and commissioning) for their customers ensuring quality of service
Adhere to processes and procedures for the recording & logging of service activity (including writing and submitting reports, updating service database etc.)
Maintain excellent customer relations and liaise effectively with customers both face to face and on the phone
Comply with requirements for documentation in support of service activity for ISO9001 certification where required
Work to ensure your own safety and that of your colleagues, customers and ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety procedures.
Skills and Experience
Expert in Commissioning, Servicing, Maintenance on a range of equipment including: Gas Analysis; Analysers, Process Instruments, Gas Detection, Stack Monitoring and Environmental Monitoring Equipment
Customer facing; carried out work on a range of sites (possibly O&G, Petro-chem, Refinery, Cement, Power Station, Chemical, Pharma and Natural Gas)
Experience gained theoretically and practically on Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation
Able to demonstrate knowledge of good practice in engineering, a good level of attention to detail / pride in your work in addition to good customer service (over the phone and face to face) and communication skills.
You will also be qualified to a minimum of HNC level in an engineering discipline or alternatively have recent working knowledge and experience (minimum 2 years) of relevant engineering work
A good working knowledge of similar product sets and instrumentation would be highly advantageous as would any previous experience in a similar service engineer role.
You will have a time disciplined and self-motivated approach to work, the ability to work unsupervised and under pressure at times and be prepared to travel in the UK and overseas (sometimes at short notice) with some overnight stays.
You will hold a full UK driving licence
Essential training (i.e. safety specific training and / or certification) will be provided for this role and the company will endeavour to provide additional training and professional development opportunities where possible and to meet the needs of both the business and the successful candidate. Please note some working at heights will be required in this role.
A company vehicle along with a laptop and mobile phone will be provided
