Mechanical Lecturer in Engineering. Full Time. Permanent.

Leicester College is the main provider for engineering education in Leicester and was rated a Good College by Ofsted in January 2018.  We are training the next generation of engineering work force by offering a wide range of educational training programmes for full time, part time and employer sponsored students up to and including HE. 

We have specialisms in Electromechanical, Manufacturing, CAD/CNC, fabrication and Welding and Aeronautical.  We have our own Technology Centre and Aeronautical workshop where learners are working on a live project to build our very own plane which is due to take its inaugural flight in around three years.

As a team, our core value is to put the students at the heart of everything we do and we work hard to ensure that students aspire to do their very best.  Our learners benefit from an Erasmus extended work placement in both Seville and Porto and we have taken part in the extended work placement pilot in preparation for the T Levels.

We have an excellent opportunity within the Engineering and Technology department for a lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. As a popular and fast growing area, you will work as part of our highly skilled team to help further develop a range of courses within the area.

As a specialist Mechanical Engineer qualified to degree level or equivalent, you will have the experience and knowledge to help guide and shape the Engineering curriculum. Teaching across a variety of engineering pathways you should be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver subjects up to level 4/5.Ability to teach one of the following subjects, CAD, Pneumatics & Hydraulics, CNC programming or theory of flight would also be an advantage.

As part of the Taking Teaching Further project, we welcome applicants direct from industry and funding for a teacher training qualification is available for those candidates. You will also have a reduced teaching timetable and support during the first 12 months.
