HR Operations Manager

Start date: ASAP

Duration: Fixed-term for 12 months

Salary: Circa GBP38k DOE

Location: London (Waterloo) with occasional travel to our regional offices

About the role

Reporting into the Senior HR Business and Projects Partner, you will be responsible for the management of all HR operational activities across the organisation, delivering effective and efficient processes, systems and compliance to provide an excellent experience for colleagues. Team, process and project management are key requirements for the role along with excellent attention to detail and a commercial approach backed up with strong HR knowledge. This role also needs a good understanding of HR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR function on all people issues in line with legislation, regulation, company policy and best practice.
  • Line manage HR Advisors and oversee employee relations cases, including disciplinary issues, grievances and absence management processes
  • Manage the recruitment lifecycle and embedding of a new Applicant Tracking System (ATS) with improved processes within the organisation, ensuring all compliance matters are built into the culture of the organisation
  • Manage and oversee all safer recruitment processes, in line with our policy
  • Line manage HR Assistants to produce documents including offer letters, contracts, etc., ensuring the HR System Cascade is updated and maintained at all times
  • Work with the payroll team to process weekly/monthly payroll and with HR Assistants be main point of contact for HR queries and advice, providing professional HR solutions, guidance and support across multiple locations in the UK
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are up to date and in line with UK employment law
  • Support wider HR team in ad hoc projects and delivering a great experience and service to the organisation, e.g. restructures, TUPE, change management.

Skills and experience

Essential

  • Passionate HR Generalist with over 5 years' experience in their field
  • Experience of employment relations in the UK
  • Experience on overseeing safer recruitment & safeguarding processes in a DBS-regulated and compliant environment, e.g. school/youth services provision/youth care provider
  • Experience in delivery of core HR services processes
  • Manager / Team Leader experience
  • HRIS experience and knowledge
  • The ability to work on their own initiative, solving problems as necessary
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • Effective communication skills with experience of working collaboratively
  • Quality assurance, organisational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities.

Desirable

  • CIPD
  • Experience of supporting the end of year salary review process
  • Experience in the creation and implementation of project plans relating to restructures, consultations, redundancies and TUPE
  • Project management
  • IT skills, in particular strong knowledge of GoogleSuite.
