Job Title: Financial Planning Assistant
Salary: GBP30,000-34,000 per annum
Location: Stevenage

Company Profile: A well respected financial planning firm, dedicated to support their clients to achieve their aspirations. Offering a wide range of services from investment management to tax planning.

Purpose of the role: You will be an individual with previous experience in a similar position and experience within the IFA sector. Along with this, you will have a fantastic work ethic and a positive attitude.

Duties of the role

  • Provide support to the financial planners in servicing both new and existing clients
  • With support for the business assistant to fulfil administrative duties when financial planners conduct annual reviews and new business meetings
  • Write suitability reports
  • Conduct research on behalf of financial planners e.g. O&M pension switch, cost comparisons
  • Liaise with financial planners to identify new business opportunities
  • Liaise with in-house team regarding DFM service
  • Instruct withdrawals on client accounts
  • New business processing/submitting
  • General e-mails/administration
  • Maintain positive relationships with insurers, providers
  • Handle queries raised from clients, providers or financial planners
  • Maintain up to date knowledge
  • Comply with FCA and internal procedures at all times

Skills/Experience Required

  • Sound technical knowledge and experience in a similar position
  • Experience within an IFA is essential
  • You will be working towards your Level 4 CMI diploma in Financial Planning (if not already qualified)
  • Able to multi-task and work with multiple clients at once
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Good working knowledge of Intelligent Office (iO)
  • Experience with software such as Standard Life Wrap, Elevate, Aegon or Ascentric (ideal)
  • Experience using Genovo (ideal)
  • Experience using O&M for research pension switches (ideal)
  • Knowledge of VCT schemes (ideal)
  • Inheritance tax planning knowledge (ideal)
