Our client, a bespoke steel manufacture, have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Estimator/CAD Technician to join their growing business. Based in the Heart of North Staffordshire they manufacture high quality, bespoke products for a range of local and national clients.
Job Description:
As a Sales Estimator/CAD Technician you will be joining an existing team to support on a wide range of bespoke steel projects for a diverse array of clients.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
* As a Sales Estimator/CAD Technician you will work with sales to interpret customers' requirements and produce Designs, Costs and CAD layout drawings as required
* You will liaise with the engineering partners to hand over designs and monitor their progress
* You will negotiate and manage the engineering partners to ensure that project deadlines are being made
* As a Sales Estimator/CAD Technician you shall review any changes to designs as requested by the engineers whilst keeping the customer up-to-date and informed
* As a Sales Estimator you will provide a full product quality check before delivery and installation of designs to the client
Candidate Requirements:
* The ability to use CAD and to understand and develop engineering drawings
* Experience of creating steel-based designs would be preferential
* The ability to present designs to customers highlighting the key features and reasoning of the design
* A thorough understanding of flat pattern layout, ability to develop flat pattern parts from drawings and sketches
* Creating designs that balance the wishes of the customer with the reality of the manufacturing process and costings
* Experience/knowledge of work prioritisation, job scheduling and tracking job progress
* Proven track record of excellent accuracy and attention to detail
* Methodical and structure approach to tasks and challenges
* Self-starter who looks for problems and solving them
* Good telephone manner
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
Salary: GBP22,000 - GBP28,000 Depdendent on Experience
