About the Role: 

City of Bristol College is seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and proactive Learning Coach. This position is full time, temporary maternity leave cover, will be based at South Bristol Skills Academy in Hengrove.  The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, professional person who will join an existing team responsible for delivering an effective, high quality Additional Learning Support (ALS) service.

What you’ll be responsible for/what we are looking for:

The role will involve providing:

  • Commitment to offering an inclusive provision within a mainstream setting
  • Experience of ALS services, including supporting, assessing, monitoring and reviewing students ’Education, Health and Care and support plans.
  • Working closely with ALS staff, students and teaching staff to address each individual’s barriers to learning, agree and monitor plans which lead to improved outcomes, greater autonomy and independence.
  • Working with students and groups of students, facilitating 1:1 and small group interventions
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent and have a commitment to personal and professional development, including being prepared to undertake training to develop a good working knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and the role of the Education, Health and Care Plan in learning.

You will also need to be able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders, at all levels, internally and externally, as well as other members of College staff and students.
