Our client is a long standing precision Engineering Company, based in Hertfordshire . They are looking for a CNC Miller to join on their late shift. As a company they offer great benefits and a friendly, clean working environment.
Manufacture of bespoke and batch parts and associated instrumentation and tooling.
Working within specified tolerances and engineering standards.
Using precision measuring equipment in the manufacturing environment.
Meeting production deadlines.
Work within safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
To work well both as an individual, as well as a team member.
Liaising with design office team to advise and assist on production issues.
Maintain, adjust, repair and clean workshop equipment and machinery as required.
To undertake training and development as and where necessary.
Perform other duties detailed by the Team-Leader as and when necessary.
Machines and controls:
1 Hurco VMX30i Mill with Winmax control
2 Hurco VMX30t Mill with Winmax control
(Experience of the above would be useful but if your experience is with other Precision Engineering Machinery, you will still be considerd)
Hours: Monday - Wednesday is from 4pm - 2am and Thursdays 4pm - 1am.
Salary and benefits: GBP27,600 - GBP30,000 including 20% shift allowance with 25 days annual leave, Annual Bonus from 5%, Pension Scheme up to 5%, Tax free childcare and Healthcare
Qualifications, skills and desirable experience
A time served apprenticeship within the engineering industry is essential. Very good working knowledge of milling machines and centre lathes; both manual and CNC
Qualified to a BTEC ONC in engineering would be ideal, but a minimum City and Guilds 205 pt2 is required.
As a team player you should be able to work closely with other colleagues, and be able to contribute ideas and suggestions in a clear and concise manner.
High levels of self-motivation and the ability to achieve goals along with a willingness to learn are core values required.
The nature of the business means that there are quite often strict deadlines that have to be met, the ability to work under pressure and to give that little bit more is also very important.
