Quality Technician Aerospace

QUALITY TECHNICIAN, CONTRACT ROLE, 6+ Months

Global Quality Management company is currently seeking a Quality Technician for a project based in Derby to support manufacturing operations, with containment and resolution of supplier parts quality issues.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

Supplier liaison on manufacturing assembly issues
Defect resolution for supplier related issues
Call logging and issue assessment (Valid, Invalid, Repeating and Contained)
Inspection of parts when necessary
Assessment of assembly conditions (customer perception)
Ability to provide practical and timely containments to prevent assembly stoppages and misfits
Compile daily report and feedback corrective action details
Interpret engineering drawings and models to industry/engineering standards
Process non-conforming parts
Occasionally undertake visits to suppliers to resolve quality issues
Prioritise tasks when in challenging situations
Demonstrate good 8D/PPS problem solving skills

Qualifications & Experience:

Good verbal and written communication skills
Experience in an Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality function in the Automotive industry
PC literate - MS Office competent (Excel essential)
Tenacious and investigative nature
Trained in problem resolution analysis (8D/PPS)
Have a basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC) methodology
Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance practices
