Starting at GBP22,664 rising to GBP24,725 with experience in the role. We currently have an exciting, permanent, full-time opportunity for a HE Employability and Progression Coordinator. This role will join our dynamic Student Support Service to provide cohesive support for learners with a clear focus on employability and positive progression. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who will be involved in the planning and organising of student centred events and developing the skill set of students. Activities will include coordinating sessions on CV writing, job applications and placement sourcing. You will be required to be proactive in developing relationships with key employers across sectors.


The role will require effective liaison with the VLE Manager and support for the tutorial programme. This individual will coordinate the activities of a newly formed Employment Hub at UCP leading on the organisation of exciting employment opportunities for our student body and will have responsibilities to target and support activities which support students identified within our Access and Participation Plan. In addition, this role will also support the creation of wider extra-curricular events and social establishment. This role will support the development of graduate skills and remove barriers that would prevent successful student outcomes.


The individual will be required to manage vacancies on our website and also provide detailed reports relating to KPIs. Your area of responsibility will vary so flexibility and the ability to prioritise are essential along with attention to detail.


The working hours will usually be 8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday. However, the working hours will vary on occasions dependent on the needs of the University Centre. Evening and weekend work may be required due to events such as Open Days, student events and Graduation.

The successful candidate will have a good level of education to a minimum of level 2 in English, Maths and IT, along with a higher education degree and proven experience of events management and/or employability is essential. Knowledge of project management and an understanding of Higher Education, as well as good communication and interpersonal skills alongside the ability to work independently in a customer focused environment, are a necessity in this role.

Exceptional communication skills both verbally and written are essential along with excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
