Our Client is a very successful aerospace company based on Luton Airport. Due to their rapidly expanding order book and to cope with weekly new enquiries they require a New Product Introduction Engineer to join their team in this newly created position.

JOB PURPOSE

* To support the design and development of new / changing products and processes meeting quality expectations of our customer base.

* To provide production support to resolve day to day product issues.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

* Develop project proposal and plans; plan and define the scope of project, time scales and costs.

* Determine project specifications; liaise with the customer to determine requirements, including product design requirements, specifications and timescales.

* Prepare cost estimates.

* Determine project schedule.

* Translate the customers' needs to a manufacturable product. Produce product designs and drawings of sub and fully assembled units to industry standards.

* Generate and agree a fully costed bill of materials

* Identify / liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve required product design.

* Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, planning and scheduling changes, recommending actions.

* Schedule and manage customer review meetings.

* Ensure compliance with all required quality and operational standards at all stages of the project.

* Problem solve and provide engineering solutions.

* Participate in continuous improvement events and implement operational excellence initiatives.

* Adhere to industry standard QA rules and regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:

* Related Engineering degree to include Product Design modules, indentured engineering route or proven experience (essential)

* Full UK Driving Licence.

Experience:

* Strong knowledge/ application of CAD software and draughting procedures (highly desirable)

* Proven Project Management skills (highly desirable)

* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build close-knit relationships with outside agencies

* Strong analytical, administrative and organisation skills and excellent attention to detail

* Strong communicator (written and verbal)

* Creative and outgoing

* Well organised and self-motivated

* Computer literate (CAD, Microsoft applications).
