The department
Our team of business services staff play a significant role in the success of Dentons.
The Client Development team, based in London, is part of the Business Development team and focuses on developing the relationship management approach for the key clients, the wider firm Client Programme and a smaller number of global strategic corporate clients.
Purpose of role
The Client Development Manager will focus primarily on the development and management of a select number of the global strategic corporate clients. In addition, the role will involve sharing and encouraging best practice in relationship management in London as well as having involvement in regional CRM programmes.
This role will suit someone in a Business Development Manager role who has previous experience and a track record of understanding and developing client relationships.
Responsibilities
Strategic
To develop a comprehensive understanding of the structure, operations and strategic direction of the clients you manage
To build an understanding of how and where the firm can best position itself in relation to these clients
To contribute to the Client Programme strategy
To work alongside the Relationship Partners to implement retention and targeting initiatives to strengthen the relationship between client and firm. The aim is to progressively increase the client revenue streams or share of wallet and profitability
To contribute to the broader firm wide approach to client management
Tactical - day to day
Working closely with relevant practice and sector BD teams including the Bids, Digital and Design teams.
Generating and calculating any required business analysis including: client strategy, client structures, revenue and profitability (including gap analysis), relationship mapping, market share, competitor activity, developments in the client's markets and client needs analysis
Managing the annual client planning review process for all clients in the programme
Managing communication and information between the key client relationship team and the Marketing & Business Development team
Cultivating and developing direct client contact with a wide range of job titles
Assisting in the development of a secondment strategy and managing the secondees for your clients
Working with the Senior Manager of Client Development to oversee relationship management priority projects designed to support the development of the firm's client management approach
Contributing to the development of best practice toolkits and training sessions to assist the firm in its roll-out of relationship management best practice

Technical experience and skills
Client relationship management experience in a large service organisation
Strong client service focus
Must be able to demonstrate strong creativity and project management skills
Strong management and people skills
Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
