Job Title:Regional Business Development Manager - Biologics

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Job Location: Flexible across UK

Travel: Up to 60% travel required, including overseas

As a Regional Business Development Manager your main objective will be to sell Life Sciences Biological services utilizing the strength of local and regional business infrastructure and resources globally.

You'll enhance revenue, profit and market share with accounts (manufacturers, services industry), through both existing and new business, with proactive focus on value-added solutions and services. You'll also lead the sales roll out of new strategic Life Sciences services or solutions.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Define and maintain list of prospect clients, previously agreed with Life Sciences Corporate Management.

  • Develop a global sales strategy to achieve defined sales targets.

  • Monitor the Life Sciences market to identify trends and develop a tailored sales approach to take advantage of current/future issues facing clients.

  • Produce accurate and detailed global proposals for clients in accordance with business procedures, SGS policies and global pricing structure, in a timely manner.

  • Ensure before a proposal is sent to the customer, that SGS has the necessary capability and resources to perform the work as required, to ensure a correct and smooth execution of service.

  • Actively follow up on all proposals and conduct client presentations whenever required.

  • Develop very close relationships with and work with all appropriate SGS technical teams and local sales teams, and refer local clients to local sales teams.

  • Record results of all activities on an on-going basis into the Sales Pipeline tool.

  • Coordinate all cross-business activities within SGS to sell to global key accounts

  • Ensure global contracts are renewed or amended as necessary, as soon as sales activities are required.

  • Ensure a proper handover with the appointed GKAM (Global Key Account Manager) at the start of any new global contract.

  • Participate to conferences/trade shows and exhibitions.

YOUR PROFILE

Skills / Experience:

  • Extensive experience in selling Life Sciences services and solutions to global clients in a fast paced, dynamic organisation.

  • Extensive ability in prospection and highly experienced in opening doors within new accounts.

  • Highly committed to achieving time frame previously defined and agreed with customer.

  • Highly skilled at setting up strong networking internally and within the client's organization, to be in the best position to drive and lead change.

  • Highly precise and accurate when issuing proposal for global clients, including technical elements, to prevent any misinterpretation and ensure alignment with the client's needs and expectations.

  • Analytical, decisive, adaptable, ethical, problem solver, persuasive, commercially-sensitive.

  • Highly Customer orientated, with deep commercial focus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Highly developed presentation skills and ability to interact effectively with senior government officials, and senior management of organizations.

  • Excellent computer literacy in the use of both MS Office and internal IT systems.

  • Fluency in English. Multiple language proficiency would be an advantage.

Qualifications:

  • PharmD, PhD, Masters or BSc degree, preferably in life sciences

  • Extensive experience working as a senior scientist in a lab environment (preferably industrial) or PhD 3-5 years' experience working in the Pharmaceutical Industry

  • Experience in a client contact position preferred

  • Regulatory experience or technical specialization in the areas of analytical chemistry, medical device and/or biologics

  • Familiarity with US and EU regulatory processes preferred
