Project Manager - x 3 Positions
Join our new team as a Project Manager. Creativity, ambition and focus on people is what matters at Barnsley Council. Our award winning Council is on an exciting journey of change. It's all about putting people at the heart of everything, listening to, and working alongside our communities. We're now more innovative, more efficient and provide better value for money.
Shape a better future with us
We're thrilled to have received Investors in People (Gold) status for how we lead, support and develop people. We would like you to be part of our success and help us to take change further. Join us on our journey to a brighter future. By working together with each other and with our communities, we can take pride in improving lives. Let's make a better Barnsley for everyone.
Your role in our journey
As Project Manager within the Property team , you will lead on delivery for a range of existing projects and developing new themes of work which support the Council's Digital First, Community Buildings Review Strategy and future School Place Planning. You will work in close partnership with a range of public / private organisations, community and voluntary groups and those who work, live and study in Barnsley. You will lend your expertise, knowledge and innovation to a range of property strategies. Crucially, you'll also help us develop, deliver and evaluate strategies, projects and services to identify need and support the operational delivery of our estate portfolio and wider ambitions of the Council.
What you'll need
These are permanent opportunities, to join us, you'll need a relevant level 6 qualification and/or evidence in a related field and your commitment to continuous professional development. You will need to evidence that you have a track record of effectively leading on property and digital related programmes. You will need to demonstrate that you have contributed to the development of strategies and policies to drive successful change. Resilient, able to 'get things done' and a natural collaborator , it is your talent for effective change management that really sets you apart.
A lot to look forward to
Here at Barnsley, we live and work by four important values: honesty, teamwork, excellent service, and taking pride in what we do. As part of our team, you can be sure we'll do all we can to support you in being truly excellent. We prioritise learning and enabling you to achieve your potential. We've created a development process that lets you grow in the way that suits you - whether that's training to be a leader, or learning flexibly online. That's one of the reasons why we achieved IIP Gold, and why you'll find your career here inspiring and rewarding.
Closing date: Friday 1st March 2019, at 23:59

Interviews will take place on the 11th and 12th of March 2019. If you would like an informal discussion in relation to the role, please contact Rachel Tyas or Tim Hartley on or click on the button below to be directed to our website.
