We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, confident, motivated and committed individual to join our Finance Team in our Hammersmith office on a part-time basis (21 hours per week).

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the payments system accurately on the accounting database and ensure that suppliers are paid on time on a weekly basis. Ensure that all payments are properly authorised and coded and that payments are made accurately and to the correct supplier's bank accounts. Operate the Trading sales and purchase ledger accurately including the correct treatment of VAT.

Key responsibilities include:

Responsible for ensuring that Hansa accounting system is operated accurately and efficiently, and kept up to date.
Responsible for ensuring that all invoices received are correct, properly authorised and valid.
Responsible for resolving all queries with budget holders about invoices and contacting suppliers with queries where necessary. Check that invoices are not duplicated for payment, and ensure that the correct supporting paperwork and receipts are included for the payments to be made.
Ensure that accurate BACS details and email addresses are held for suppliers. Run a BACS and cheque payment run every week, check, and obtain authorisation from the bank signatories for the payments to be submitted.
Review invoices and expense claims and query with the relevant Director of they are not in accordance with the value for money and expense policies.
Maintain online supplier details e.g. utility bills, telephone etc, and ensure that we are paying the correct rate of VAT for these and publications and advertising.

The successful candidate will have been working in a similar role for at least one year as well as have one year's experience using an accounting package. They will have very high levels of accuracy and have excellent numeracy skills for the role.
