Head Chef

Tonic are exclusively searching for a Head Chef for a fantastic venue located in Warwickshire. We are looking for a Head Chef who is driven and passionate about delivering first class food; catering for the daily caf?? operation as well as a wide range of hospitality events, conferences and weddings. The venue is open for 9 months of the year Mid-March to Mid-December and therefore the head chef will need to cover other venues within the business during some of this time. This factor and the rural location mean that a driving license and your own vehicle is a must.

Main duties will include -

• Planning, preparation and delivery of all types of food and concepts to a set specification and standards.
• Monitoring your team's performance and ensuring that all hygiene and health & safety compliance is being adhered to.
• Being passionate about food and have an understanding of current and emerging trends.

Proven experience in a similar style kitchen operation is essential as is knowledge of menu design along with a thorough understanding of both costs and controlling wastage. You will have 4 years' experience working within a busy kitchen in a similar quality establishment and hold NVQ 3 (or equivalent) in food preparation and cooking, be qualified to Level 3 in Food Safety (or be willing to undertake training to obtain) and have the willingness to learn new skills, which includes the Groups IT systems and be able to develop within the experienced culinary team.

Team work, excellent time management and having a flexible approach to work in a 7-day week operation is essential along with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional customer service. The venue is closed every Monday so this would be one of their days off except for bank holidays. A normal day will be 8am-5pm so the role offers great work life balance.
