Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Team Leader to join their fast paced production site. We are interested to hear from candidates who have strong people management skills, who have managed a large number of staff, who preferably have a background in the food industry (but not essential).
Main Responsibilities:
Responsible for a team of up to 40 staff and manage the day to day running of the factory
Motivate staff to ensure operational and quality targets are achieved/exceeded
Achieve both internal and external quality standards through the management of processes and people in accordance with both the company and customers' expectations
Manage and assess the work area in order to ensure that Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental responsibilities are not compromised
Manage the team to ensure the department is compliant with company standards
Effectively coach and mentor staff to encourage development of others
Managed holiday and absences ensuring the department has the correct cover
Plan daily work schedules to ensure targets are achieved
Manage attendance through RTW interviews
Work with Distribution to ensure deadlines are met
Be involved in first stage disciplinary process
Complete all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
Skills/Experience:
Production Manager/Team Leader experience
Experience of working in food manufacturing
Good knowledge of Food Manufacturing & Hygiene
Excellent communicator both written and verbal
Ability to work under pressure to tight timescales
Resilience
Excellent people management skills
