We are seeking a Commis Chef for Girton College, University of Cambridge, to work with the Executive Head Chef and other kitchen staff in ensuring the provision of consistently high quality food and service in the cafeteria, with some emphasis on production of hot and cold sweets and desserts. The College also caters for a range of conferences and functions held on-site, including fine-dining. The hours of work will be on a rota system, in conjunction with the other Chefs, working alternate weekends
An awareness of Food Safety and Health & Safety legislation is essential for both roles as is an appropriate qualification to either NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent, or knowledge gained through experience of working in a kitchen catering environment. The post holders must have strong organisational, time management and planning skills.
