Hours: 37.5 hours per week (3 nights, 1 day)
Type: Permanent position, 52 weeks per year
Holiday Entitlement: Year 1: 33 days (247.5 hours) inclusive of bank holidays

Role Summary

Here at Seashell Trust we provide care for children and young people (up to 25 years old) with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairment and communication disorders and autism.

We are recruiting for two Night Leads to join our children’s homes as part of our waking nights team in these newly created opportunities based in our fantastic 2 and 4 bedroom purpose built homes on our single site at Cheadle Hulme near Manchester Airport.

The Night Leads will directly manage the shift leads, seniors and associated staff teams in promoting quality sleep for children / young adults, and when awake a safe, caring and purposeful learning environment that will assist them to achieve their fullest potential.

These are excellent opportunities for experienced and qualified senior Support Workers with supervisory skills to progress their careers and make a real difference.

The hours

• The role operates on a rotating shift pattern over 7 days, so full flexibility over 7 days is required
• 3 nights and 1 day per week
• The night shift is 9.45pm – 07.45am
• The role will work every other weekend

Requirements

• QCF (Level 3) – Health and Social Care (CCYP) or Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent Childcare qualification)
• Extensive knowledge and experience of working with children / young people with learning disabilities and complex needs
• Experience of supervising and completing appraisals with staff in a care setting.
• Experience of disability, mental health and autism spectrum conditions
• Previous experience mentoring and supervising team members
• Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to write and maintain reports and children / young people notes and communicate effectively with parents/staff/other professionals
• Car driver and willingness to use own car in line with Trust’s Safe Driving Policy
