Here at Carshalton College, we are now looking for a Tutor to provide tutorial and pastoral care for a group or groups of learners with learning disabilities/difficulties and monitor work experience activities.
Acting as a Course Leader and taking responsibility for students’ study programmes including Maths and English, you will take an active role in all aspects of student assessment and accreditation whilst seeking and monitoring work placements including visiting and completing risk assessments. You will also liaise with external agencies, take part in curriculum planning and product development and undertake research and engage in necessary development to ensure quality delivery.
We’re looking for an individual who holds a recognised teaching qualification or who is willing to participate in staff development in order to achieve one. With experience of working with and an understanding of LLDD, you will have a range of strategies to meet the individual learning needs of students, particularly those with learning disabilities or difficulties and be able to provide effective student support.
You’ll need to be comfortable managing students offering challenging behaviour and have knowledge of the accreditation framework and assessment strategies in the post 16 sector including RARPA. With excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, you will have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and be able to work successfully as part of a team.
This position is based at Carshalton College and Merton College.
This position is permanent, full time.
