Job purpose
Oxford International and De Montfort University (DMU) provide programmes of study for Home, International and EU students at De Montfort University International College, based in the heart of the DMU campus. These programmes prepare students for Bachelors and Masters Degrees, and contain courses to develop English language and study skills, as well as academic modules.
DMUIC are looking for an Administrator to join their growing Student Services team. The person appointed will need to be customer focused, proactive, able to handle a wide range of tasks and be very adaptable in his or her approach.
Main duties and responsibilities
Supporting the College Manager with the college’s provision of student services, in particular Operations and HR tasks, which include:
- Contributing to the creation of a friendly and supportive atmosphere for students and staff
- Working on the reception desk and greeting visitors
- Dealing with enquiries in person, over the telephone, and by email
- Liaising with external agents, Admissions colleagues and student ambassadors
- Monitoring and reporting issues with college facilities, such as classrooms and ICT
- Assisting with college Health & Safety
- Supporting the recruitment of new staff members, including advertising and the production and maintenance of staff HR files, training records and associated paperwork
- Monitoring and distributing office supplies, stationery, books and other resources necessary for the work and functioning of LIPC
- Producing student timetables and registers
- Monitoring student attendance, recording, reporting and acting as appropriate
- Monitoring & collection of student fees
- Registering students on to their programmes of study, assisting with the completion of registration paperwork
- Producing, updating and monitoring student and staff electronic files
- Collecting & Collating module and programme level feedback
- Providing basic student welfare services within the College, including to those with disabilities and/or specific learning differences, and ensuring students are informed and have access to the specialised student services provided by DMU
- Providing cover for colleagues in their absence
- Acting as a positive ambassador for LIPC
- Following both DMU and LIPC codes of conduct for staff
