Distribution Center Shift Manager

Reporting into the Fulfilment/DC manager. You will be carrying out the responsibility for all inbound, outbound, inventory and administrative work taking place within the main site per shift.

The hours of work are based on a shift basis - Working 4 days on and 4 days off, from 7am until 7pm each shift.

What You’ll Do:

• Ensure appropriate staff levels in all departments for all shifts
• Conduct shift briefings
• Organise and direct the work of the departmental supervisors
• Ensure smooth running and completion of tasks allocated
• Responsibility for QC and inventory control
• Ensure DC KPIs are met
• Identify and fulfil staff training requirements
• Monitor performance of staff members
• Perform the duties of a Warehouse Operative where needed
• Be responsible for H&S compliance for the shift. Report and rectify any breaches of Health & Safety regulations and incidents/accidents
• Help devise and communicate updates of work practices, procedures and methods to team members
• Support the Fulfilment Manager with additional tasks as required
• Carry out annual reviews with each departmental supervisor
• Open and/or close and secure the building as directed
• Provide accurate and timely payroll information to HR

Full training will be provided during induction and further training will be given throughout the course of your employment, to assist in progressing your career with us.

What You’ll Bring:

• You’ll be and experienced DC/Warehouse Manager
• Be able to work effectively as an individual, as well as part of the management team and have proven experience in motivating and managing a team
• You’ll have strong verbal and written communication skills
•  A self-starter with a proactive approach to tasks
• Highly organised with excellent time management skills
• An excellent eye for detail
• A high level of initiative, energy and dedication for completing tasks to the highest standards
• An experience Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Work and Excel) user to an intermediate level
• A positive ‘can do’ attitude

Required licences or certifications:

Counterbalance and Flexi truck licence preferable but not essential.
